Mori no Auberge Mitsu is a small auberge that cooks dinner for each guest, taking three groups a night. Booking at an inn that serves a meal is not the same as at a room-only inn. This journal sets out how reservations and cancellations work, with the reasons behind them.
There are three things to know. Meals are by reservation only, a cancellation charge starts a set number of days ahead, and the last check-in falls at a fixed time. Each of these comes from being an inn that buys in ingredients.
Knowing this early makes your day easier to plan. Please read it before you book. The wording is also set out on the Info page of the official site.
Why an inn for three groups is reservation-only
Mori no Auberge Mitsu has just three rooms, named Ki, Mi and Tsuki. It welcomes only three groups a night.
Dinner is an omakase kaiseki course that follows the Hokkaido season. The food is prepared for the number of guests in each booking. That is why meals are by reservation only.
A set amount of ingredients is bought in for that day alone. If your group suddenly gets smaller, those ingredients cannot be used on another day. This is the biggest difference from a room-only inn.
How cancellation charges build up
A cancellation charge grows as the date gets closer. The nearer the cooking day, the harder the plan is to change.

In short, if you tell us by four days before, there is no charge. When your plans might change, an early word is a great help. The Dining page explains the same idea.
Why the last check-in is 19:00
Check-in is from 15:00 to 19:00. Dinner is served from 18:00.
The dishes are finished to the timing of the meal. So that nothing goes cold, the last check-in is set at 19:00. Arriving by around 18:00 lets you eat without rushing.
Payment and parking to check before you book
Payment is cashless only. Credit cards, electronic money and QR code payments are accepted, but cash is not.
There is parking for ten cars. It is free for staying guests, and no reservation is needed. There is no valet service, though.
There is no shuttle service, and pets cannot stay. Breakfast is from 8:30, and check-out is at 10:00.
Coming just for dinner, as a day plan
You can also come only to eat, without staying. A dinner-only day plan for one group a day is offered from 12,000 yen. Rates are subject to change; please check the booking site before you travel.
This day plan buys in ingredients in the same way. So booking and cancelling follow the same idea as an overnight stay. You can reserve through CHILLNN.
